Located in the heart of Downtown Monterey, Compact Disco is a HiFi Listening Room by day and discotheque-inspired ultra lounge by night. Textures and elements of the venue’s tropical disco themed ceilings and walls engulf party go-ers with oversized leafy palms and an array of disco balls. An early 1900's Parisian salon-style art installation by famed fiber artist Linda Lay adorns the north wall while back lit vintage walnut and brushed metal stereo components glisten from behind the black marble bar where patrons enjoy their favorite libations poured by the area's best mixologists. A rotation of world renowned producers and DJs grace the DJ booth each and every weekend, showcasing Chicago House, Detroit Techno, New York Tribal House, Philly Soul, Italo Disco, Balearic Beats, Bossa Nova, Funk, Motown and other sounds that helped build the foundation of modern day dance music. Our immersive seasonal decor is a must see for both locals and visitors alike.
Open 7 days per week, festivities begin at 5pm daily as customers enjoy an extensive selection of craft cocktails, local wines, craft beer and more during our Happy Hour which extends until 7pm. As the sun sets, the excitement builds as our guests sip from an elite selection of the world's finest champagnes while dancing to sounds provided by internationally renowned guest Djs Wednesday through Sunday nights. Come early and stay late, the dancing doesn't stop until 2am most evenings.
The Music : Compact Disco has a focus on music programming that explores the rich history of Disco and House Music. Spearheaded by award winning music producer Kenny Summit who has served as music curator for luxury brands including Ralph Lauren, Kenzo, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Chanel, Dior, Prada, Armani and Burberry, our genre specific musical direction is in line with our event series that have taken place in Ibiza, Tulum, New York City, Cannes, Milan, Paris, Prague, Moscow, San Paulo, St Tropez, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Saint Barthelemy, Dubai, Berlin and Sydney.
Hours Of Operation
Doors open at 5pm every day.
Closing time varies from Sunday to Thursday and we stay open until 2am on Friday and Saturday.

Open To The Public
Compact Disco is a MEMBERS CLUB however we are open to the public 7 days per week with exception to the occasional members only / private events. Non members are welcome every day and night, but must pay admission after 9pm on weekends and for special events. Our Membership Program comes with access to our Compact Disco Dining Club, discounts on venue rentals for private events, complimentary admission, complimentary bottle of champagne on their birthday, special offers and opportunities to enjoy affiliate services from trusted surrounding businesses including restaurants, spas, luxury goods providers, boutique hotels and more.
Our Membership Program is currently at capacity and we will announce the next round of open enrollment soon. Note, you must know two present members to qualify for enrollment.
California state law dictates, no persons are allowed in the venue under 21 years of age. Proper identification is required.
Table Reservations
Looking to enjoy a bottle of Dom Perignon with friends? For Table Reservations we suggest reaching out at least 24 hours in advance. A number of our tables can accommodate 3 to 4 guests comfortably with a required minimum of $400, and we offer one larger table for parties of up to 6 guests that is situated on the dancefloor next to the DJ booth with a $600 minimum. For those reserving a table, admission fees are waived. Contact info is below.
Private Events
Compact Disco is available for private rentals for parties of up to 60 people.
Liquor Catering Services
Compact Disco offers full liquor catering services for events of all sizes, specializing in craft cocktails, champagne and a variety of old world, barrel aged cocktails. Past and present clients include the Andy Warhol Foundation, Ferrari, Mercedes Benz, Bentley, Disney, the Kennedy Family, the PGA, the NFL, the NBA, the MLB, Nike, the Tiger Woods Foundation, President Clinton, President Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan, Elon Musk and many more.

OUR RULES (more like guidelines)
The experience our customers receive is paramount, therefore we have a strict NO CELLPHONE / NO PHOTOGRAPHY policy for our dancefloor area. Much like how cell phones are not allowed at the movie theatre, the light from your phone ruins the ambiance and experience on the dancefloor. You can take photos near the bar, just be sure to turn off your flash / light. Our DRESS CODE is simple, no work clothing, no sportswear of any kind and no hats. You don't have to be dressed like you're going to the Oscars, but we do not allow lounge wear at our venue, so please make the effort to throw on a nice outfit.
NO REQUESTS : Award winning producers and Djs perform at Compact Disco each and every weekend, therefore we have a strict NO REQUEST policy. We work hard to bring internationally recognized talent to Monterey, DJs who are masters of their craft, so we ask our guests to respect their art form and kindly let them work their magic.
